Editorial policy
ProgressBar is an unofficial fan project. It is not affiliated with Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive. This page sets out where the information comes from and what we will not publish, because a completion tracker is only worth using if its numbers are right.
Sourcing
Official sources only
Facts about unreleased games come from Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive directly: Newswire posts, official trailers, storefront listings and investor filings. Where a claim is contested we say who said it and when.
No leaks, ever
We do not publish leaked material, and we do not build pages on it. That includes leaked footage, datamined content, and specifications circulating from unnamed sources. If Rockstar has not said it, it is not on this site as fact.
No unverified numbers
Prices, dates, item counts and percentages are checked before publication. If we cannot verify something we leave it out rather than estimating. Our regional price tool covers only the five currency zones with real Rockstar Store listings, and tells you plainly when your region is not one of them, instead of converting a guess.
Checklist and map data
Completion data for released games comes from playing them and from cross-checking community sources. Every collectible on our interactive maps has been plotted against the game, not copied from a single wiki page. Item counts shown on each tracker are the counts we actually hold in our data, not rounded marketing figures.
Where a video guide is embedded it is credited to its creator and linked to the original. We embed, we never rehost.
Images
Screenshots and artwork are official Rockstar material used in an editorial fan context. Every image is credited in ATTRIBUTION.md. We do not use fan art without permission and we do not present concept or AI-generated imagery as official.
Corrections
When we get something wrong we fix it and record it. Every correction is listed on the corrections page with the date and what changed. We do not quietly edit and move on.
Found a mistake? Tell us and it gets checked the same day.
Money
Some links to storefronts are affiliate links, and where that is true the page says so. Affiliate relationships never affect which edition we recommend or what we say about a game. Pro is an optional paid tier; everything a single playthrough needs is free and always will be.
