Before you look for anyone: Cayo Perico was built to be run solo, and for most players solo is the better payday because nothing gets split. There is no good in-game way to find competent teammates, which is why the whole community moved to Reddit and Discord years ago. These are the places worth your time, roughly in order.
The dedicated GTA Online LFG subreddit. Post your platform, region and what you are running, or reply to someone else's. Highest hit rate of anywhere, because everyone there is looking for the same thing. Open r/HeistTeams ↗
Discord wins on speed because you can see who is online right now and jump straight into voice. Search "GTA Online LFG" in Discord's server discovery, or ask in a server you are already in. Look for one with a busy channel in the last hour, not the biggest member count.

The Heist Planning board and open lobbies do work, but you cannot see skill or intent before you commit, and randoms quitting mid-setup is the norm. Fine for a finale, painful for a full run.
Most LFG posts get ignored for the same reason: they make the reader do the work. Give people everything they need to decide in one line.
That post answers platform, region, experience, the exact run, whether you talk, and when. Compare it to the one that never gets a reply:
Include these six things every time: platform, region, your level, the heist and difficulty, mic or no mic, and when you are actually free. Say if you are hosting, since the host needs the Kosatka and takes the cooldown.
Heist scams are common enough to be worth thirty seconds of caution. The rules are simple and they never change.
Never pay up front. Nobody legitimate asks for money before a run. Never share account details. No exceptions, including for "account recovery" or "unlocks". Refuse modded money. Rockstar removes it and bans accounts that receive it, so a free drop can cost you everything you have earned. If someone offers you millions for nothing, they are handing you a ban, not a gift.
Do you need a team for the Cayo Perico Heist?
No. Cayo Perico is the one heist designed to be run completely solo, which is why it became the go-to money method. You only need other players if you want to move more secondary loot in a single run, and even then the take is split, so solo is often better per person.
Where do people find GTA Online heist teams?
Three places, in order of how well they work: the r/HeistTeams subreddit, dedicated LFG Discord servers, and in-game via the Heist Planning board or open lobbies. Reddit and Discord both work far better than the in-game options because you can see who is online right now.
What should an LFG post actually say?
Platform, region, your level, the exact heist and role, mic or no mic, and when you are free. A post that says "PS5, EU, lvl 160, Cayo hard mode, mic, on now" gets replies. A post that says "anyone wanna do heists" does not.
How do I avoid getting scammed on a heist?
Never pay anyone up front, never hand over your account details, and be wary of anyone offering modded money or "account recovery". Rockstar bans accounts that receive modded money, so a free handout can cost you the account. Do the setups yourself and split the finale normally.
Is there a Cayo Perico cooldown?
Yes. After finishing the heist you have to wait before you can start it again, and the wait is longer if you were a guest on someone else's run rather than the host. Plan around it if you are grinding with a group.
Our Discord has an LFG channel alongside the tracker chat. It is small and honest about it, so Reddit will still be faster for a random run today, but it is a decent place to find regulars.
